Certificate to Recommend
For a patient to become registered in the state of Ohio to purchase medical marijuana, they must have a recommendation from a physician to use medical marijuana for their diagnosed condition. Physicians interested in obtaining their certificate to recommend (CTR) must currently hold an unrestricted MD or DO license from the State Medical Board of Ohio. Additionally, physicians wishing to recommend medical marijuana need to complete at least two hours of continuing medical education that will assist in diagnosing qualifying conditions, how to treat those conditions with medical marijuana and possible drug interaction.
