Part of the process of becoming a registered patient in Ohio is having a physician recommendation for your specific condition. Physicians must be certified with the State Medical Board of Ohio to recommend medical marijuana as a form of treatment, as well as hold an unrestricted MD o DO license. If your primary care physician is not registered with the State Medical Board of Ohio to recommend medical marijuana, you will need to form a bonafide relationship with a recommending physician who is. The State Medical Board of Ohio keeps an up to date list of physicians certified to recommend on their website. Don’t forget, after receiving a physician’s recommendation of medical marijuana for your condition, and consent to treatment, the remainder of your patient application must be submitted to the Ohio Board of Pharmacy within 90 days.
